#EMS 8860 VR6 SOFTWARE#

Most of the software is free to download and play with.ĭoing this should quickly show which one meets your needs best, and then you wont overspend on something that has features that you don't need or you buy one that cannot do what you must have. Is it a hard trigger or a thermal model? can it be configured?īest thing to do IMO is to download the software for each that you are considering, and try to configure the unit to suit your car. When looking at Power Distribution the big things to look at are:ġ) how many high current outputs do you need?Ģ) how many low current outputs do you need?ģ) how are you going to switch devices (Direct or CAN), and how does the device handle thatĤ) do you need the wiper to work correctly, if so it needs to have dedicated wiper handling hardware to work correctlyĥ) do you need PWM outputs, if so, how many, what speed, and at what current? not all Power Distribution units can do PWM high current outputsĦ) how is the unit datalogged? this is essential to get the most out of power distributionħ) how is overcurrent measured, calculated, controlled and reset. It is also not what I see in Circuit racing anywhere that I go. But it is not really based on any facts or actual sales numbers. Like all EMS products these are fully upgradeable as new software features are released. These ECUs are designed and built on the many years of experience of the EMS engineers. So my point wasn't to be too picky at your statement, but when you say that they are selling 5 times more than MoTeC, you may feel that that is correct from your perspective of the cars and people that you see where you go. From the EMS Website: The Motorsport Series comprises of 3 state of the art Engine Management Computers. I see some of the Emtron/Link ECUs in circuit cars where I would commonly have seen Haltech at circuit events, so I suspect that they are eating into some of the Haltech higher end circuit sales. In Drags, I agree that Haltechs are far more common. So MoTeC prices have come down, Haltech's top ECU price has almost doubled (I don't have exact Haltech ECU prices from the day, but that is how I remember their Pre Elite pricing)Īnyhow, at circuit racing events, I still rarely see any Haltechs, except in Sydney, where they are more common. Now, an M130 including many options that were previously charged for is now about $3000, whereas a Haltech 2500 ECU is now $2675 (both ECUs same size, same connectors, so a reasonable comparison) The Haltech ECUs back then were considered the cheaper ECU, that step above a mictotech, $1500 or so. also do the els have sequential or batch fire injection thanks for. am i correct in assuming the the ems will control the fuel, ignition, and idle and the standard ecu will still control the dash and smart lock. i was just wondering if anyone could give me some hints or tips on installing it.

and i was going to try and install it myself.

#EMS 8860 VR6 PLUS#

In the old days, a MoTeC M800 was $3500 plus all the options. hi guys, ive just purchased an ems 8860 for my el xr6. That is true (re recent price increases), I am more referring to the introduction of more expensive ECUs by Haltech, rather than increase in price of the product itself.
